| DARREN:
I like fishing because it gets me away from everyday
life which is run by timescales and procedures. You
get to meet and talk to other people, which you wouldn't
do in the street. It enables me to empty my mind and
think of nothing else but fishing. It's a joint hobby,
sport and relaxation method which can be both challenging
and rewarding. It can be either technical and tactical
or simple and easy. Although everyone who fishes aim
to catch fish but the best thing is you can enjoy
the experience whether you catch or not.
JIMMY: Peace and tranquillity
compared to home life AH BLISS. Nice way of meeting
people as well.
PETER: I think fishing is a primeval
instinct that’s born in us all an instinct
to hunt to survive to find peace and tranquillity
and to fill my lungs with fresh clean air not knowing
what the next cast will bring, its a chance to clear
your mind of all the crap that’s been there
all week and chance to meet new friends and have
a good old laugh at your self when its chucking
down or blowing a gale and you could be in the house
.BUT I WILL JUST HAVE ONE MORE CAST BEFORE I GO
ANDY: Peace and tranquillity,
bliss sheer bliss on the bankside.
I've also met people of all walks of life, if you
are a millionaire, doctor, copper, surgeon, whatever,
we are all the same on the bankside.
When my mum passed away I went fishing on the Sunday,
she passed away on the Thursday, the lads did not
know what to say!!!!!!! They gave me my space to
have my moments of thought's until I shouted for
my mum to help me catch a fish LoL, that brought
the lads together, I would like to think they felt
my loss !!!!!!!!.
ADE: As a young lad of 5/6 years
my Dad wad in the Army and took me to some 'wild'
places as a kid. I got to love nature and went bird
watching. Sitting around lakes etc started me showing
an interest in something to do - fishing. That was
50 years ago and I still love every minute! |
