River Derwent

Posted by: on 09-01-2005

Do We need This?
The picture below show the state of a local pond.

Not sure where to fish we headed for River Derwent near Blaydon Rugby club. Before getting our stuff out I had a quick look and the river and it was not as bad as I thought it would be. So we decided to give it a try.

Andy set up his feeder rod as on the lake and I used my float rod with a stick float and did some trotting down the river using maggots. We spent around 2 hours before having to head back and watch the Newcastle match on TV. I managed only one bite but missed the fish on the strike.

This was my third outing this year, and a very bad start to the year without a single fish to my name.
